Jan-Paul van Term

Jan-Paul van Term likes to analyze complex problems and come up with creative solutions. He has more than 30 years of experience as a strategy consultant with a specialization in commercial strategy. Jan-Paul helps organizations with better strategies, major transformations and new business models. He is motivated to help people look at things differently and to develop further based on their strongest qualities. As a strategy consultant, he became CEO of Hill+Knowlton Strategies Netherlands in early 2021.

Within H+K, Jan-Paul focuses on Corporate Advisory. He advises clients on new business models, governance, transformation, digitization and strategy. He has extensive experience in the energy, consumer goods, telecom and pharmaceutical industries. As CEO, he is responsible for all activities in the Netherlands and is also a link to WPP and the international network of H+K.

Before joining H+K, Jan-Paul was a senior partner at KPMG where he was responsible for the Customer Advisory practice in the Netherlands. Before that, he was a partner at the international strategy consulting firm Kearney until 2016, where he was responsible for, among other things, the Energy practice in Kearney’s Global Digital Team. He was a partner at Quintel Strategy Consulting from 2003 to 2010 and project leader at The Boston Consulting Group from 1995 to 2001. He started his career as a project manager at Unilever in 1991.

Jan-Paul is a member of the Supervisory Board of TAUW, a leading European Environmental Consulting firm. He was a member of the Advisory Board of Mega Windforce, a wind energy startup, from 2017 to 2021. He is an Academic Coach in consulting at the Rotterdam School of Management.

Jan-Paul studied mechanical engineering at Delft University of Technology and obtained his MBA from INSEAD in 1996. He followed the Supervisory Board courses New Board Program at Nyenrode and IN-BOARD Academy at INSEAD.
